The eighth series of the British medical drama television series ''Casualty'' commenced airing in the United Kingdom on BBC One on 18 September 1993 and finished on 26 February 1994.〔(IMDB Casualty Series 8 )〕

Continuing into Series 8 were nurses Charlie Fairhead (Derek Thompson), Lisa "Duffy" Duffin (Cathy Shipton), Martin "Ash" Ashford (Patrick Robinson), consultant Mike Barratt (Clive Mantle), paramedics Josh Griffiths (Ian Bleasdale) and Jane Scott (Caroline Webster) and receptionist Norma Sullivan (Anne Kristen).
Joining the regular cast were surgical manager Mark Calder (Oliver Parker), senior house officers Karen Goodliffe (Suzanna Hamilton) and Dave Masters (Martin Ball), locum consultant Tom Harley (David Ryall), clinical nurse specialist Ken Hodges (Christopher Guard), staff nurses Adele Beckford (Doña Croll) and Rachel Longworth (Jane Gurnett), trainee staff nurse Mary Skillett (Tara Moran), project 2000 nurse Helen Chatsworth (Samantha Edmonds), paramedic Brian Crawford (Brendan O’Hea), receptionist Mie Nishi-Kawa (Naoko Mori) and porter Frankie Drummer (Steven O’Donnell). Paramedic Lucy Cooper (Jo Unwin), who had appeared in two previous episodes (one in Series 6 and one in Series 7), appeared in 7 episodes, acting as Josh's regular partner in the last 5 episodes following Brian's departure. William Gaminara appeared as former regular Andrew Bower, now married to Duffy, in episodes 9 and 11.
